How the Afterpay referral code works

Step 1 — Open the invite link

Open the invite link on your phone. It opens the Afterpay app (installing it first if needed) and drops the code LEIGH-XF7CS into your promo wallet. If you’d rather, you can also type the code in manually inside the app. The Invite a Friend offer is redeemed in the app only.

Step 2 — Create your Afterpay account

Sign up as a new Afterpay customer. You’ll go through Afterpay’s standard application process, which includes a credit check. To be eligible for the referral discount you must:

• Be an Australian resident;
• Be new to Afterpay — you must not have had an active Afterpay account in the past 12 months;
• Be personally known to the person who shared the code and happy to receive Afterpay communications.

Approval isn’t guaranteed — Afterpay decides based on its own checks.

Step 3 — Make a Pay in 4 purchase of $50 or more

Shop at any participating Afterpay retailer and check out with Pay in 4. Your first order must be $50 or more to unlock the discount. Pay in 4 splits the cost into four instalments paid every two weeks, with no interest.

Step 4 — Get $30 off automatically

The $30 discount is applied automatically at checkout on that first qualifying purchase — there’s nothing else to claim. Once your purchase goes through, the person who shared the code also receives $30 off their next Pay in 4 purchase of $50 or more.

Good to know

• The discount is one-time use and expires 28 days after it’s issued to you.
• It applies to the total order value including GST and shipping, capped at the amount you pay.
• Some products and merchants are excluded (for example, Amazon).
• It can’t be combined with another first-purchase promotion — if more than one applies, only the higher discount is used.
